Re: Russell Wilson

The whole "it" thing is just so damn ethereal and yet.... True, but Wilson is calm during big moments, regularly came up with a big play when needed in college, controls the huddle and the game. These things are observable and go a long way toward defining "it." I'm pretty sure ...

Re: Why Jamaal Charles should be a BUST Candidate

Of course being a bust for injury purposes is still being a bust.

And he said "right for the wrong reasons." Which is why you don't see that reason listed above.

Sheesh.

Somewhere around 25 sounds right to me.

Re: Dont overlook DMC

I'm with you, Outlaw. I have DMC on two teams so far (1.10 in a 12-teamer and 2.8 in a 10-teamer). I don't think he's getting nearly enough love. Even the DS write up has little negative to say.

I'm taking the discount his injury history provides and am happy.

Re: Why?

He looks like a different back than the guy I saw play last year (slow, not elusive, non-exceptional vision, went down on first contact). I'm starting to think he must have been hurt that game (I wish I could remember which game it was that I watched).

Re: For anyone interested in auction leagues

I definitely appreciate the effort, but I think that your keeper league has unique enough features that this won't be broadly applicable to many people.

Looks like a nice team though. Good luck!

Re: Felix Jones 3rd round 8th pick ???

I'm all-in on Felix this year. Took him at 3.6 in a 12-teamer and 5.4 in a 10-teamer (neither are PPR). He's my third RB in the 10-teamer behind Arian Foster and DMC. I was absolutely giddy to get him there. I was on the Felix hype train back when it was first leaving the station, but got off after ...

Re: Rate Roster: McFadden in 1st

Yeah, if I had it to do all over again, I would have taken a QB instead of Benson. But I didn't know at the time that QBs would be flying off the shelves as quickly as they did.

Good luck.

Re: Rate Roster: McFadden in 1st

Out of curiosity, is the roster in your sig an auction or snake draft?

I can't imagine being in a league with enough bananaheads to let someone draft Rice, Charles and Rodgers (all first round picks in nearly every draft you'll see).

Re: Rate Roster: McFadden in 1st

I don't feel jumped on. I appreciate your thoughtful opinion. I completely agree that my final RBs are complete crap shoots. They are throwaways. But in a 12-team, 16 round draft, your final picks are going to be high-upside throwaways or hum-drum never-starters. Every guy on my roster has the talen...

You make a pick in the 15th round of your draft and all the guys with magazines say, "who?!"

Rate Roster: McFadden in 1st

12-team redraft - we start only two WRs. Lineup is in my sig. I'm much higher on McFadden than most seem to be this year. Love my RB depth. Was targeting Romo, Roethlisraper or Stafford at QB, but all went well before their ADPs, robbing me of the chance. When RBs go down this year, their owners wil...

In response to the current advertisement on the DS front page for "the world's most outspoken Bible scholar" (is that a good thing?) and the offer for a free copy of The Case For Christ, I give you my favorite non-believer/atheist blog, written by a biology professor at the University of M...

I like using old Nintendo characters as my avatars. You can find just about anyone you want via google. Doesn't necessarily match up with your name though. Perhaps you can find some spandex-clad hottie from Minute to Win It and use her. Or maybe a play on words with init, if you have a comp sci back...

Re: My Case For Rashard Mendenhall Top 5 Pick

Great post. I find your reasons persuasive. I don't think I'd take him top 5, but I won't feel bad about taking him later in the first round.

More than in year's past, I've talked myself into the proposition that a high floor is MORE important than a high ceiling with those first few picks.
