Evolution of the Football Player

Postby CrackedAces » Mon Feb 25, 2013 5:08 pm

People talk all about how players today are bigger, faster, stronger than those of 20yrs ago. There really isn't much of a debate about it, but when I see something like this, my jaw just drops:

Terron Armstead, a 6'5" 305lb Offensive Lineman, ripped off a 4.65 40-yd dash. How fast is that? Faster than Vick Ballard or Alfred Morris' times last season! He would be in the top 50 of all RB/WR/Qbs in this seasons class, equalling the time of EJ Manual and faster than Montee Ball. Faster than 3 WRs who are in this years combine!

305lbs! Just think about that for a minute.......................

The times in general this year have been ridiculously fast. Goodwin running a 4.27. McCalebb, Austin, and Swope going 4.34. 3 other guys went sub 4.4. 277-pound DL Margus Hunt ("The Eastern Bloc") posted 4.60.

I wonder if scouts will put any stock into what was obviously a fast track in Indy.
Glad Tim Biakabatuka is out of the league.
