If it ever did catch on, I'd have to go with a zero TE theory

Well, it seems to be Gronk and then a pack of maybe TEs this year, with JG flopping. A couple of big games could change things, but right now, it has to be a FAIL when Luke Wilson is getting more downfield targets on MNF. I lost by 1 point in 2 leagues because of this nonsense

Well the proverbial white towel has been thrown in for this past week as I benched JG for Woodhead.
Hope he rebounds at some point as I tried lots of trades this past week with little interest. He just does not look good in this Seattle O.

In another league I may rock Gronk & Barnidge to keep the twin TE attack alive :D

Well, that week I benched him and he went off for around 8 and 140. I started him last weekend and got burned again. Total FAIL and JG may never see my starting lineup again. Next time he goes off it will be on my bench and then I'll trade him fro whatever I can. :x

I've had some changes- losing Arian hurt, but I managed to flip Dion and Evans for AP & Rivers this week. Having Diggs really allowed this... Julio would have been awesome to have and was clearly the correct choice, but then I would not have selected Hopkins and Evans.
Note that the first 3 rounds were 90% bust this year, higher than usual......this all points to FAs being so much more important than a perceived 5 spot reach in an August draft.

I can imagine circling back to JG at some point as a flex.
This stretch performance could be vindication!

Can we agree that this strategy is considered a failure yet?

Good job rebuilding that team with some shrewd moves. That's not a push-over lineup by any means, but yes, Julio would sure make it look better

Oh man double injury whammy on my beloved TEs . Now I am like the rest of the league, scouring through the garbage and hoping for a TE TD.

In the end, it seems like a fail, but I don't think it was because of TE TE. >90% of the first 2 rounds were a fail due to injury and ineffectiveness.
I'll go Gronk again at virtually any spot in the 1st round next year.

FWIW, I am 6-5-1 and hopefully headed to the playoffs. I wish I kept David Johnson though! OOOf! I just cut him last week.

Me too, I cut him in every league I had him in. Who'd have predicted that lose the RB1 and RB2 in ONE game? He's money now though.

Yes, I can see David being the stud RB for the end run here. Goal line skills, receiving skills, take it to the house at any time, productive offense....this guy has #1 Beast potential.
I cut him on 11-26 for ...

I'm gonna play judge on this strategy and label it as a fail.

Regardless of the rest of your team,; you drafted heavy On a position that is trending as a deeper and deeper position for the last few years.
And you only needed 1.

TE Scoring is up across the board. The top 12 tight ends are on pace to have roughly 800 more yards than the top 12 last year. And it's a growing trend of you watch football, and see how they are becoming important in offenses.

I like gronk, but health is ALWAYS a concern, and that is on the mind of the top fantasy players.
And jimmy graham had red flags as well going into that offense.

Just a fun move, and I commend you for doing it. It's kind of fun from this perspective.
But this is absolutely a 100% FAIL

Deeper? I'm not so sure about that. Gronk, Eiffert, Olsen, and the surprise of Barnidge are the only TEs that have really been difference makers this season. To a degree you can add Kelce but he's been a disappointment overall, at least for me he has been. The rest are slop that you need to cross your fingers and hope for a td most weeks.

I personally wouldn't do the TE- TE strategy but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. If he would have had Gronk and Olsen he could start one at the flex and then when Gronk got hurt he would have still been better than everyone else at TE. Hindsight is 20/20 but to say spending too early picks on TEs won't work isn't fair
