#4 WR and RB

Postby Grim_Rockers » Sat Aug 20, 2016 5:17 pm

Alrighty Fellas.. I have my draft tomorrow and have not paid as much attention this year as in past, so I am here to ask for some recommendations for the #4 WR and #4 RB..

Here are my League requirements and general game plan.. 2 QB, 4 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE, 2 PK and 2 DEF. (16 Rounds) This is a 1 point PPR League.

I expect to pick 3 RB and 3 WR within the first 6 rounds. I will then take 2 TE and 2 QB in the next 4.. then follow up with DEF, PK and my #4 RB and #4 WR over the last 6 rounds..

So, who do you think I should target as my last RB's / WR's?

TY in advance for your recommendations..

So much depends on who your first 3 RB's are when it comes to your forth RB. Do you grab a handcuff for example? Dunno.

It also depends on how many teams are in your league. There's a big difference in your choices when you're talking a 10 teamer versus a 12 teamer (20 extra players off the board in a 12 teamer by rd 11). If you're looking to not go RB4 until round 11 you're pickings will be slim based on currently published ADP's. Bilal Powell, Shane Vereen, DeAndre Washington, Darren Sproles, CJ Spiller, etc. If it were me I wouldn't wait till the 11th...I'd get my starting QB and TE and look for another RB/WR in rounds 9 & 10. Again...based on current ADP's that opens up Rashad Jennings, Arian Foster, Derrick Henry, Justin Forsett, etc. A little better pickins.

For me it's hard to sript my draft the way you're trying to. The only discipline I'm able to enforce for myself is waiting on a QB which has served me well for many years...so I stick with it.

Good luck!

DY covered it. Use your MVP Board- I hate the fact you're already locking yourself into drafting a set amount of positions through round 6. If it's full PPR, I think you should be open to drafting WR heavy. If anything 3RBs, would be the max I'd be looking to draft that early. You listed roster requirements, but really the starting lineup requirements are more important for the discussion. If you can start 4WRs, the board is realy going to stress WRs.

Well, Just as a follow up.

I had the 7th pick in a 12 man league.

I ended up with
1.7 - Lamar Miller
2.6 - Mark Ingram
3.7 - Mike Evans
4.6 - Jarvis Landry
5.7 - Drew Brees (Surprised myself here, because I am a dyed in the wool Late Round QB Drafter)
6.6 - Michael Floyd
7.7 - Duke Johnson

My 4th Rb came is the 11th Round with Jay Ajayi and the 4th WR came in the 15th with Travis Benjamin.

I have usually advocated a WR/WR philosophy - dating back to Andre Reed / Andre Rison. This year though my MVP Board and my other sourced Cheat Sheet pointed to Lamar Miller over a WR at #7. I had considered Allen Robinson, but pulled the trigger with Miller. I guess we will see how it plays out..

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback.

Looks good to me. I'm a believer in Miller this year, and I think he could clearly be the RB1. Evans at 3.7 is a steal. I don't have an argument against Ingram at 2.06 seeing as you were able to get Evans, Landry, Floyd later.

Agreed. You got great value at WR's considering this is a PPR league.

Hey Fellas..

My roster has not been set for a full 48 Hours and I have been toying with the idea of dropping my 4th WR - Travis Benjamin (Bolts) and picking up Tajae Sharpe (Titans).

Any thoughts? Good Move, Lateral Move or Bad Move?

Thanks!

so funny because I have been thinking about doing same thing...difference is mine is a keeper league so Sharpe holds more value. The way I look at, if you don't ever plan on starting Benjamin...then why not roster the guy who has more upside? Benjamin could very well end up with more fantasy points this year, but all signs point to Sharpe being legit (so far anyway)...I say do it.
