To Gronk or not to Gronk

Postby TxG8R » Tue Aug 30, 2016 5:50 pm

I'm sitting at draft spot 7 in a 10 team PPR redraft league. Long time league with the same guys for many years, so I know their tendencies. There's a very good chance Gronk will be sitting there in the second round. (Bell too but that's a whole other can of worms...) Really not sure I'm comfortable taking him this season. I've done some mocks and don't love my team when I grab him early. Tempted to wait and try to snag Jordan Reed in the 4th, but he'll most likely be gone before my pick. TE seems deep this season (Reed, Olson, Kelce, Walker, etc) but I really hate to struggle by missing out on a top one.
Thoughts?
10 tm, re-draft. PPR, 4 pt pass TD, 6 pt rush/rec TD, 1 pt/20 yds passing, 1 pt/10 yds rush/rec

I would pass on Gronk all together but I am definitely a wait on a te drafter. Given your starting requirements allow you to start either 4 rbs/2 wr, 3 rbs/3 wrs or 2 rb/4 wrs I would be loading up on those positions and waiting on TE/QB. Good Luck!
teams 1 and 2 - 1 pt 10 yds rushing/rec, 1 ppr, 6 td, 1 pt 25 yds passing, 4 tds

Team 1 (10 team) - start 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te
qb: Brady, Wentz
rb: Dalvin Cook, B. Powell, J. White, A. Kamara
wr: Green, M. Thomas, B. Cooks, S. Diggs, T. Williams, JJ Nelson
te: Ertz, Doyle

team 2(10 team) - start 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 flex (rb, wr, te)
qb: Mariota, Wilson
Rb: D. Murray, Fournette, D. Henry, Riddick
wr: A. Brown, K. Allen, S. Diggs, Crowder
te: stream

I took Jordan Reed in the 10th Round last year and he ended within 7 points (PPR) of Gronk, based upon my leagues scoring. I think Reed will do equally well this year, and if you can get him in the 4th round, you would do well.
