If you have the #1 pick in two leagues, do you...

Take David Johnson in both leagues
Hedge your bets and take Johnson in one league and Lev Bell in the other

Do you hedge your bets? (Poll)

Postby minvike » Tue Sep 05, 2017 3:32 pm

I randomly got the #1 pick in two long time leagues that I am in with my buddies. They are both 12-team, PPRs. I already took David Johnson #1 in one of the leagues. My question is, do I take Johnson again in the second league (which drafts Wednesday night)? Or do hedge my bets and take Lev Bell #1 in the other league. Just wondering what the sharks think.

I think I would have to hedge here, even though I am not opposed to having multiple guys on more than one team typically.

FWIW, I had Bell in 1 league and DJ in another last year and won them both! :D

Injuries are just too random and I wouldn't want to be 100% invested in one over the other. I'm fortunate this year to own both in a few places. I own DJ as a keeper and I got Bell at 1.02 in my home league. And now I'm drafting a small stakes ppr league with my son where we drew 1.01 and picked Leveon. I drafted a small handful of MFL10s, where I also ended up with DJ in one and Bell in another.

Some of this is luck, obviously (you have to get top picks in multiple drafts) but I would certainly hedge between these two players. I think Bell is the best fantasy running back in the league hands down. Even while Johnson posted historic stats in 2016, Lev actually outscored him in ppg.
