Best show on TV

Postby CrackedAces » Thu Nov 01, 2012 2:43 pm

Love to hear what other people are watching and seeing if there is something I am missing.

My vote: Sons of Anarchy

Show most likely to make me laugh so hard I cry: The League

The Walking Dead.

I've consistently heard good things about Homeland but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. That's how I'm spending my offseason!
Glad Tim Biakabatuka is out of the league.

Best show on network tv is Modern Family.

Cable is a toss up between Treme and Boardwalk Empire. Dexter and Homeland are excellent too.

This is why I opened this thread. Both of you have named some great shows. I have a friend telling me that Homeland is the best show I am not watching. Alot of people love Walking Dead (although I am not a zombie fan, no particular reason, just never liked the genre). But I had never even heard of Treme. Just looked up the trailer on IMDB. Wow, that looked good. Will have to wait for Netflix to get it as I don't subscribe to HBO (or any premium service for that matter).

Thanks for the ideas guys!

The rest of you can't just be watching football and porn can you???

Not a zombie fan either... but Walking Dead has an awesome plot and great characters. Worth checking out.

Random shows I like:

Walking Dead (stick with it even through a slow 1st half of season 2--season 3 gets really good)
Mad Men
Homeland
Dexter
South Park
The League
Always Sunny in Philadelphia
New Girl
Game of Thrones

Quit on BoardWalk after the 1st season, also quite on TrueBlood, got too weird. Never got into Son of Anarchy. Never watched Treme but always heard it got good reviews.

Also, if you are going to wait for anything from HBO to be on NetFlix, you will be waiting a long time. As of right now they don't put their series on NetFlix and have no plans to. Showtime occasionally does.

Just wanted to follow up on this one. I just watched the Sons of Anarchy Season 5 finale tonight. Easily the best season of the 5 so far. This show is head and shoulders better than anything else I am watching. If you are not watching it, I suggest going back from the beginning and checking it out. And know that it gets better as each season moves on.

Can't wait for next season!

Ok, Never watched Sons of Anarchy, but will have to check it out.

The best shows in my opinion:

*The League- (I continue to re-watch the pilot)
*Boardwalk Empire
*Game of Thrones (fantastic!)
*Archer
*Modern Family
*Hard Knocks (duh)
The number of leagues I have committed to is absurd!

My name is Corey and I watch entirely too much TV!

My favorites, in no particular order:

New Girl, mostly because of my secret crush on Zooey, but the whole case is hi-larious
Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory, these make me LOL a lot, from the belly
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League, the make me LOL a lot and feel a little bad about it!
The Walking Dead, beyone the zombies and gore there are some truly engaging storylines here
The Killing watched the first 7 eps on Netflix so far, a very good and low-key drama
Dexter, cannot wait to start season 6 as the DVDs finally cleared up on Netflix
Looking forward to starting Homeland, have heard great things

And I would not post to a list like this without mentioning the hands-down best show that's ever aired on TV: Firefly. Shiny!

- Corey
Big Damn Heroes: *Keeper, Pass 1/75yd, 4/TD; Run/Rec 1/25yd, 6/TD
QB *Prescott, Rivers
RB Crowell, Hyde, Powell, Perkins, JWilliams
WR ABrown, DBryant, MBryant, Britt, TyWilliams, Doctson
TE Graham, Engram

Clockwork Angels: IDP+PPR, *Keeper, TD 3/6/9, PYds 1/30, R/RYds 1/10
QB Mariota, Dalton, Wentz
RB *DaJohnson, Hunt, Powell, DMartin, Carson
WR *MThomas, OBJ, Crabtree, Garcon, Hogan, Godwin
TE Olsen, Gathers
DL Ingram, Wilkerson, Ogbah, Spence
LB *Kwon, Kuechly, Freeman, Houston, VIgil, James
DB Joseph, SDavis, BJones

Hard to watch TV right now since they're building our house and we are living with my in-laws. However I'd go with Blue Bloods, Spartacus, and Tosh.O.

I watch a lot of the shows already mentioned. One show I love that has not been brought up is Parks and Recreation. You can skip season 1, the show really found its tone and characters in season two. I highly recommend it.
12 teams - 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1FLX/1K/1D
YARDS: 1pt per 25 passing, 1 pt per 10 rushing/receiving
ALL TD=6 pts. PPR=1/2 pt. ALL T/O = -2 pts.
Team Bonus: 6 point bonuses if your starters combine for any of the following:
300+ passing yards, 200+ rushing yards, 300+ receiving yards
QB: Brady RB: D. Martin, McCaffery, Gallman, McGuire, Cohen, David Johnson
WR: D. Parker, D. Jackson, M. Bryant, R. Matthews, Jaron Brown TE: Walker D: Chiefs
