Need advice at multiple positions, heading to the championship game

Postby Dantes10 » Wed Dec 21, 2016 12:43 am

Guys,

I feel a bit in a quandary. I'm in a 0.5 PPR league with otherwise standard scoring. We start QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, FLEX, D/ST, K. We don't start a TE unless it's as a FLEX.

Here's my team.

QB - Luck, Rivers
RB - Elliott, Miller, Gore
WR - Hilton, Jeffery, Crowder, M. Jones, Snead, Sanu, Lee
D/ST - Arizona
K - Gostkowski

I was lucky to pick up Jeffery 5 weeks ago when an owner dropped him following his PED suspension. I played him last week and he paid immediate dividends. Before that I was rolling with Crowder most times. I usually go by the mantra of always start your studs, but wanted some feedback on whether to start Jeffery against Washington since he'll probably draw Josh Norman. Lee intrigues me this week against the worst rated pass defense of Tennessee. I'm really banging my head here.

This is what I was thinking.

QB - Luck
RB - Elliott, Miller
WR - Hilton, Jeffery
FLEX - Gore

Is that my best lineup or should I swap Jeffery for Crowder, or possibly Lee? Washington plays against the Bears and unfortunately I live near Chicago and get to see that suckfest every week. I'm sure Crowder will put up pretty good numbers. Barkley has been playing well so I'm thinking Jeffery will get force fed the ball so I'm torn.

Please help!

I forgot to mention I've also got Brandon LaFell if that matters.

Do you think it's worth picking up KC's D/ST to start against Denver, or roll with Arizona against Seattle?

KC's D/ST has Tyreek Hill and are playing against a pretty bad Denver offense. Arizona has been getting beat bad lately so they scare me a little, even though Seattle's O-line is not very good. Our D/ST gets points for yards allowed (rushing and passing each have their own scoring), points allowed, sacks, INT's, fumbles. A dominant D/ST can get 30+ points. Arizona got me 12 points last week but 6 were on a TD.

Nope

It's Jeffery vs Crowder for me. I'd lean Crowder, but not by a lot. I'm probably rolling out Jeffery on one team for me.

TE - JReed EEbron VDavis

Not a fan of AZ at all vs Seattle this week.

KC could do well, so I'd go with them.

Now I need a tiebreaker. LOL

Jeffery or Crowder

I'm leaning Crowder but with the state of Bears WR's I would think they would target Jeffery 10+ times.

This is what I was thinking.

QB - Luck
RB - Elliott, Miller
WR - Hilton, Jeffery
FLEX - Gore

That is a good lineup. Keep an eye on Miller's practice participation, though. He is banged up and limping on a bad ankle. I would move Miller to Flex and Gore to RB to ensure you can replace Miller with a WR if things don't look good Saturday.

I think Jeffrey vs. Crowder is real close. Jeffrey could see a lot of Norman, but he is good enough when healthy to overcome tough matchups if Barkley is willing to put the ball up there.

Definitely replace AZ denfense if you can, KC would be a good choice. If you missed out on them I would still consider other options available.
12 teams - 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1FLX/1K/1D
YARDS: 1pt per 25 passing, 1 pt per 10 rushing/receiving
ALL TD=6 pts. PPR=1/2 pt. ALL T/O = -2 pts.
Team Bonus: 6 point bonuses if your starters combine for any of the following:
300+ passing yards, 200+ rushing yards, 300+ receiving yards
QB: Brady RB: McCaffery, D. Martin, Cohen, Carson, K. Williams, David Johnson
WR: M. Bryant, D. Parker, D. Jackson, M. Jones, R. Matthews TE: Walker D: Chiefs

Thanks guys...and thanks for a great season. I have won 1 league last week, and am in 2 more championship games this week. I've got a chance to win 3 of 5 leagues, and the one league I lost was only because AJ Green and Gronkowski got hurt. I was 12-1 with that team and outscored the next closest team by over 200 points.

I like Jeffrey (barely) over Crowder, mainly due to lack of options in Chicago and the opposite in Washington (too many options).

I'd look at relying on Gore more than Miller, especially with the ankle.
